James brings over 20 years of residential sector experience, with a focus on Build to Rent (BTR) since 2012. A recognized advocate for the sector, he has expertise in design, planning, affordable housing, development, and stakeholder engagement. With a deep understanding of investor, resident, and community priorities, James has delivered successful rental-led developments across various tenures. Previously a Senior Director at Greystar, he led BTR and mixed-use projects, engaged with government on emerging policy, and supported student housing and third-party management consultancy. Formerly a Partner at Deloitte Real Estate, James led their Residential Projects team. James serves on the Government’s BTR Joint Committee, the BPF’s BTR Committee, and ULI’s UK Residential Council, regularly contributing to industry panels and best practice guides.
